Q.

#asktheexperts Hi Dr..my son is five months old..he has this habit of keeping his fingers in his mouth..and he does that almost whole day..even during feeding he tries to keep his fingers in the mouth..just wanted to know of we can use pacifier, if yes what's the procedure to use it..I mean do we have to sterlize after one two hours..

A. dear Mum It is normal developmental behaviour of baby known as mouthing, Baby's way of exploring things. There is nothing much that you can or should do. Most babies outgrow it. Maintain good hygiene You may try to distract by giving toys avoid pacifier it can introduce infection to baby , reduce milk supply , interfere with breast feeding
