Q.

#asktheexperts Hi Dr..my baby is 76 days old..its very difficult to burp her... trapped air won't go easily... Sometimes when burping she wakes from sleep... sometimes I burped for a long time..but nothing comes out...hold upright for 30 min and lay down...but after few time..may be after an hour she wakes up and pass burping sound....my doubt is ..is burping sound heard necessary for every feed?what to do if baby sleeps?.Also sometimes when holding her upright for burping, she may spit or vomit milk .. sometimes as milk as such and sometimes as curd..is it normal?

A. Hi mom little spit up or curd type milk is normal. This is due to acid reflux which will be fine as the baby grows up. yes it is important to burp the baby to prevent gas formation in stomach. u can burp after giving feed, but if the baby sleeps and does not take burp then also no need to worry
