#asktheexperts Hi doctor.. my baby is 2 month old and she has a cough and cold ..would you please help me what should I do?

A. Give nasal saline drops every few hourly to the child in the nasal cavity. Try to prevent temperature variations around the child You can go for indirect steam inhalation which will again help in decreasing bosth cough and cold Continue the regular diet of the child If there is no improvement in few days then meet your doctor For fever asnd pain give paracetamol. Anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.

A. If your baby is younger than 3 months of age, call his or her doctor early in the illness. In newborns, it's especially important to make sure that a more serious illness isn't present, especially if your baby has a fever. In general, you don't need to see the doctor if your older baby has a common cold
