#asktheexperts Hi doctor I have twin girl babies born on 17th December 2022, daily 10 to 12 time they are getting motions kindly suggest on this, as per pediatrician initially 8 to 10 times motions is ok but now babies are 22 days old still this not cleared

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy2 years agoA. if you are giving only breastfeeding then there very less possibility that slightly loose to semi solid stool may be present intermittently.
if you see that it is totally watery and also you are giving outside milk then it is advisable to get the child examined by the doctor to rule out any digestion problem or any infection.
also give both hind and fore milk during breastfeeding as only fore milk will increase diarrhoea and green stool.
need of probiotics (sachet superflora gg once a day can be given) and zinc has to be evaluated.
in the meantime kindly continue breastfeeding to prevent dehydration. x
you can give ors also if water loss is more
if there is blood in the stool then kindly meet the doctor immediately xbecause it can be dysentery also.

Hi, Baby pee count must be atleast 7-8 times a day.Also, It is normal for exclusive breast feed babies to not pass stool frequently it can be even once in 5-6 days. If baby is having bloating or any other discomfort consult with your pediatrician. Take care.
