Q.

#asktheexperts Hi doc, My daughter is 1 month old and whenever I m trying to feed her she is not taking breastmilk and starting to cry non stop. I m giving her bottle formula milk whenever required but I want to exclusively breastfeed her.Can u help me under this behaviour and how I can make her drink breastmilk and stop crying

A. very important to see that position and attachment while breastfeeding the child is proper. if improper the child will continue to suck for long hrs without getting any milk meet lactational counsellor who will guide regarding this. see videos on you tube for breastfeeding position and attachment. take plenty of water, home made diet, seasonal fruits and vegetables, milk for increasing breast milk for yourself. take 15 to 30 days weight and growth assessment by the doctor. also rule out colic pain

A. See sometimes it’s very difficult for kids to take breastfeeding because the feed is slow they are not getting enough feed with the effort that they’re making all they have to make a lot of effort to take a feed from you so you can express your breastfeed if the child is accepting bottle easily then give your expressed feed with the help of a feeding bottle
