A. hi mam,thumb sucking is natural mechanism for self soothing. so it is normal. but ,you should check your child pee count ,if it is around 7 or 8 times in a day ,you should not take stress for his/her feeding pattern. because a good urine output indicates that your child is getting enough milk. you can try different feeding positions to distract your child from this . maintain skin to skin Contact while feeding your child it will also help to encourage your child to take more feeds.
