#asktheexperts Hello Dr, I have 1 year 7 months old Son, he's having constipation issue while passing the stool giving too much effort n stool also very tight.in a day we are giving him Suji ka halwa , fruits like Banana, boil apple, papaya n rice , 700ml milk... please suggest

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Constipation is a problem where there is difficulty in passing the stools and it could be very hard leading to sometimes injury and it becomes a chronic condition in most of the cases if not treated properly .
most important thing is a proper diet with good fibre and plenty of liquids . Also avoidance of food which can aggravate the condition likncde Banana excess of milk and food with maida and junk .
medications should be given like lactulose or polyethylene glycol but only in guidance with the doctor.
In emergency situation glycerine suppository or enema is useful.
