#asktheexperts hello doctor! my baby was born with the birth weight of 2.9kgs and around 2 months he was 5.1kgs and around 4 months he was 6.160kgs, is the weight gain normal? or he should have gained more?

A. in normal condition weight is double of birth weight in 5 to 6 months. if your baby gain weight double of birth weight in 4 months....that is absolutely normal.

A. what should I do? should I add 1 extra feed? the problem is if he's done he pushing the bottle away and sleeps more. If I wake him up in middle of the feed, he won't drink. I can't force feed him, right?

A. Yes it is because my initial two months your child gain 1 kg in a month and then after that the child is gaining 500 g in a month which is also Idea right but this kind of weight reduction from 1 KG to 500 g in a month is very good positive weight is always better so right now you have to check why the child is not gain 1 kg kilogram as a child previously was you can talk to your doctor regarding that
