#asktheexperts hello doc. I'm 2nd time pregnant. 32 weeks almost now. i have been diagnosed with low lying placenta reaching upto internal os during 1st trimester. recently Doppler scan on 4th October also shows the same low lying placenta. i want to know if Normal delivery is possible or c section will be advised in this case. what to do .

A. in case of low lying placenta, there is no chance of normal delivery. With placenta praevia, there is a chance of bleeding in the second half of pregnancy. That’s because this is when the placenta lies in the lower part of the womb, which is stretching as your baby grows. Bed rest in the hospital. Medicine to prevent early labor. Steroid shots to help the baby's lungs develop faster
