A. Green loose stools in a 2-month-old baby can be caused by various factors. Here are some possible reasons: 1. **Normal Variation:** It's not uncommon for the color and consistency of a baby's stool to vary. As the digestive system develops, changes in stool color can occur. 2. **Breast Milk or Formula Changes:** If the baby is exclusively breastfed, green stools can sometimes be a result of changes in the mother's diet. If formula-fed, it could be a reaction to the formula. 3. **Infection or Illness:** In some cases, an infection or illness, such as a gastrointestinal infection, could cause changes in stool color and consistency. 4. **Teething:** Teething can sometimes lead to increased saliva intake, which may affect the digestive system and result in green stools. If your baby is feeding well, gaining weight, and doesn't seem unusually fussy or lethargic, the green stool may not be a cause for immediate concern. However, it's crucial to consult with your pediatrician. They can provide a more accurate assessment based on the baby's overall health, feeding patterns, and any other symptoms that may be present. If you notice any signs of dehydration, persistent fussiness, or if you have other concerns, seek prompt medical advice.
