Q.

#asktheexperts Good Morning Dr. jaishna is down with fever and we are giving her calpol drops as per doctor advice. but she is not eating or drinking anything. can you please suggest

A. it is very common that during the disease process the child will have loss of appetite as well as after the disease the child will have decreased appetite for food and this will last for at least one week. you have to provide plenty of water to drink and you can give food rich in fluidxs as well as juice extracted from fruits which will help in improving the appetite. if if the child is having nutritional deficiency the doctor will add multivitamin supplements to increase the appetite.

A. That’s very common during the time of temperature the appetite of the child automatically goes down so in this case I am just going to suggest you always whenever you are in the situation like this for more of liquid you can give liquid khichadi and porridge you can give juices fresh coconut water and all these things which is healthy fulfilling and easier for the child to consume
