A. hi dear Cerelac can be given as alternative food item. Till 6-7 months , if you have enough breast milk, feed that milk to you baby. Mother's milk is the best food in the world. While travelling/in an emergency you can carry Cerelac as keeping lots of food items are very difficult. At home you can boil Carrot, Potato , make them paste and add little bit veggie stocks( The left over water of boiled vegetables) and give it to your child. As alternative , you can give Raagi soup also. For my child I have added Moong dal ( 2 spoons), Chana Dal( 2 spoons), Raagi ( 3 spoons), Urad dal ( 2 spoons) and finally Jawar ( 2 spoons). Fry all the above mentioned ingredients and after becoming cool, Grind them in the mixture and keep it in the air tight container. Daily, you can feed 1 spoon with milk and give it to your child. It should semi liquid consistency. But above all Mother's milk is best food for your child. At least 1 year You should feed your baby. Feeding your baby will reduce risk of breast cancer and increase your child's immunity.
