Q.

#asktheexperts 13months baby having diarrhea from last 10days ,on antobiotics cefixime and metronidazole still diarrhea persisting please help , almost 10 to 12 stools per day plus solids intake also reduce tryinv to maintain hydration but significant weight loss

A. Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucouss high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which neehcds antibiotics treatment

A. There could be a possibility that you are continuously giving milk to the child which is why the diarrhoea is not subsiding so stop giving milk shift to non-lactose milk for the time being if it is needed to because that is when things are going to be working out betterWrite Your Answer Here
