during the feeding process child takes air along with milk and that air goes inside the stomach fwhich irritates leading to hiccups.
you have to offer feeding as well as do proper burping(for atleast 20 minutes) to decrease this problem and it is a self limiting problem
during hiccupfs just give breastfeeding again and keep the child in upright position for burping which will stop the episode
