POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. It is common for 3-month-old babies to occasionally vomit or spit up milk after feeding. This usually happens because their digestive system is still developing, and the lower esophageal sphincter (the muscle that prevents milk from coming back up) is not fully matured. This can lead to gastroesophageal reflux (GER), which is generally harmless and often resolves by the time the baby is 6–12 months old.
Other reasons for vomiting can include overfeeding, where the stomach gets too full, or the baby might have swallowed air while feeding. It’s also important to burp your baby during and after feeding to release any trapped air. However, if the vomiting is forceful, frequent, or accompanied by other signs like fever, diarrhea, or discomfort, it’s best to consult your pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or an infection.
