A. Basic Fruit purees like apples, pear, avacado, papaya, mashed banana, chicoo can be given. Wash the apples, peel the skin, cut it into pieces, steam the apples, cool it down and mash it without lumps. If required u can add some breastmilk or formula to get a good texture. Papaya can be given after other easily digestible fruits like apples, banana, avacado etc., you can give papaya around 7 to 8 months. Mangoes can be given around eight to ten months of age. Mangoes can sometimes cause an allergic reaction in the form of rashes. So start with few bites and make sure it suits ur baby's tummy before increasing the quantity. If u have already started with other easily digestible weaning foods and the baby is comfortable with them then u can give few spoons of melon puree and see if it suits your baby. Some babies may develop rashes from melons. So take care of it. Or you can also wait until the baby completes eight months and then introduce muskmelon or watermelon. U can introduce kiwi fruit between eight and ten months. But if ur baby had any allergies or rashes earlier it is better to wait until the baby is ten or twelve months old as kiwi fruit is a bit acidic. Make sure the pomegranate seeds are sweet and not too sour as u will not add sugar to it. After blending the pomegranate seeds, extract the juice alone by using a strainer. Make sure there aren't any seeds in the juice that u feed the baby. This can be given during morning or afternoon sessions. Avoid pomegranate juice for night meals. Also make sure your baby does not have cold while giving pomegranate juice. If she does have cold wait until the cold subsides for few days. You can give chikoo around seven months. Remove the skin and seeds. Mash the chikoo. Add some breastmilk or formula to get a puree texture. Oranges are citrus fruits. So they can be acidic when given to the baby. Considering the baby's tummy will be immature and sensitive, it is good to wait until the baby is one year old. Specifically if the baby has acid reflux, spit up and vomiting issues, it is best to avoid oranges till 12 months. Sometimes the acidity can also cause rashes in the diaper area and around the mouth. But if u r sure there is no history of food allergy in ur family and your baby doesn't have any reflux issues, you can try giving orange around ten months. But make sure your baby can chew well and will not have a choking hazard. Pineapple is generally recommended around eight to ten months of age. You can start with steamed and pureed apples, pears and mashed bananas to start with and then go for pineapples. the acidity might sometimes cause rashes. If it happens wait for few more months and then give.
