POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy6 months agoA. Most babies are ready to start solid foods around 6 months of age, while continuing breast milk or formula. At this stage, their digestive system becomes more developed, and they begin showing signs of readiness such as being able to sit with support, showing interest in food, and losing the tongue-thrust reflex. The first foods are usually soft and easy to digest, like pureed fruits (banana, apple), vegetables (carrot, sweet potato), and iron-rich foods like rice cereal or moong dal puree. It's important to introduce one food at a time and watch for any allergic reactions. By 7 to 8 months, babies can start having a wider variety of mashed and soft foods 2–3 times a day. Always consult your pediatrician before starting solids, especially if your baby was born premature or has any medical conditions.
