#asktheexpert When can you give a baby solid foods which are not mashed? what to do if the food gets choked why arevfruits steamed/stewed and given? Won't the vitamins die?

A. Hello By 8 months you can give soft mashed foods. solids can be given after 9 months. some fruits like apple, pear can be stewed . Yes there is a loss of few vitamins, but in cases where baby cannot eat solid foods, stewed are preferred. something is better than nothing.
