#asktheexpert When can we actually start solids to baby doctor ? Is it ok to give mashed carrot , apple in 5th month itself

A. No.. ots not good to start giving complementary food before 6 month. Breast milk is the recommended source of nutrition for infants, especially during the first six months of life.

A. Yes you can start giving one item at a time,For your first few feedings, give your baby just 1 or 2 teaspoons of pureed solid food or infant cereal after nursing or bottle-feeding. Use a soft-tipped plastic spoon to feed your baby to avoid injuring his gums. Put a small amount of food on the tip of the spoon and offer it to him.
