#asktheexpert when baby starts speaking sentence

A. Babies typically start speaking in sentences between 18 months and 3 years of age, but the exact timing varies for each child. 12 to 18 months – Most babies say a few single words like "mama," "dada," or "ball." 18 to 24 months – They start combining two words (e.g., "want milk," "go park"). 2 to 3 years – They begin forming three- to four-word sentences (e.g., "I want toy," "Daddy go work"). By 3 years – They can usually speak in simple, complete sentences and express thoughts clearly. Encouraging speech development includes talking to your baby often, reading books, singing songs, and responding to their attempts to communicate. If your child isn’t forming short sentences by 2.5 to 3 years, consult a pediatrician to check for any speech delays. Let me know if you need specific advice for your baby!
