A. Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine is basically a vaccine which protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children because of less immunity. Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be given to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 months of age and initially two doses are given one month apart then every year single dose is required . It is not documented but still studies suggest that to some extent it may give partial protection against covid infection .Vaccination for children can be considered in the current situation as the cases of covid are less to some extent . In such condition most important Vaccination should be given on priority which your doctor will decide. Influenza vaccine should be given to children above 6 months of age in this season if not given to avoid unnecessary hospitalisation and other risk factors because of flhfu infection
