ExpertArchanaNutritionist4 years agoA. Hi Mom, baby's weight depends mostly on her birth weight. however, we can expect baby to gain double of her birth weight at the age of 6 months and triple at 1 year of age and weight gain about 500 gm to 1 kg in a month. small deviation is absolutely fine.
if you baby girl is active, happy, reaching her milestones and having meals properly, then nothing to worry about her weight.
feed her variety of homecooked foods like porridge, fruit puree, vegetable puree, veg soup, nuts powder, soft cooked and smashed khichdi, roti or paratha smashed in dal, pancake, etc. and use ghee in her meal preparations.
feed her on regular intervals, maintain good hygiene and avoid force feeding and overfeeding.
SanthoshiMom of a 8 yr old girl4 years agoA. Hi dear good morning Check if baby is gaining adequate weight. In the initial 3 months, babies put on about 1 kg each month. From 3-6 months, weight gain reduces to 1/2 kg/month. from 6-9 months, it becomes 1/3, and for 9-12 months, it settles to 1/4 kg. the birth weight doubles in the 4th month and triples when they reach 12 months of age please check accordingly
