A. In the first few months of life, a baby’s weight gain is a key indicator of healthy development. On average, newborns gain about 150 to 200 grams per week during the first three months. From 3 to 6 months, the average weight gain slows slightly to around 100 to 150 grams per week. After 6 months, it may decrease further to 70 to 90 grams per week, depending on the baby’s growth pattern and feeding. Each baby is unique, and some may gain weight a bit faster or slower, which can still be normal. Regular pediatric checkups help ensure that your baby is growing at a healthy and steady rate.
