A. Bananas, avocados, pears, peas, potatoes and sweet potatoes help in weight gain. Continue with breast milk as before as it is best source of weight gain for babies till one year. Ragi helps in weight gain. You can give ragi porridge, apple ragi porridge, ragi idli, ragi dosa, ragi kheer, ragi roti etc. Prepare Sathumaavu Health Mix Powder at home. You can get its recipe from the internet. Raw bananas also help in weight gain. You can make raw kerala banana powder and add it to different recipes. You can give homemade paneer pieces. You can add a little bit of homemade ghee to your baby's meals. You can give one egg yolk per day. Avoid giving white part of the egg before the baby turns one year old. Give whole grains like wheat porridge, wheat soya porridge, broken wheat porridge, groundnut wheat porridge, green gram wheat porridge, wheat Dalia porridge or wheat halwa.
