Q.

#asktheexpert sir my 18 month baby dtp vaccinated on 17th March and his pneumonia vaccination due on 17 th April , iis it possible to go for vaccination 4 days before due date on 13th April. he got fever last time when vaccinated due to swelling on injection area on leg.

A. Hello, your baby boy is 20 months old and he is due for his PCV vaccinations on 17 April but if if you want to prepone by 3/4 days then it’s okay

A. Yes, 3 days before the due date for vaccination is absolutely fine. Or you can consult with your doctor for the same - if not 3 days prior then maybe a later date. Fever, redness and swelling after vaccination are common. For fever, paracetamol or Crocin can be given depending on the child's weight. Cold compresses help to reduce swelling and redness.
