Here’s what you can do:
Start solids gradually: Begin with easy-to-digest foods like:
Mashed banana Rice water or soft mashed rice with ghee Moong dal water or soft khichdi Ragi porridge Suji (semolina) kheer
Continue breast milk or formula: This should remain the main source of nutrition. Offer 5–6 times a day along with solids.
Feed every 2–3 hours: Small, frequent meals help build appetite and weight.
Add healthy fats: Once the baby adjusts to basic solids, add a few drops of ghee, mashed avocado, or well-cooked egg yolk (after 7 months).
Track weight regularly: Healthy weight gain is around 500–600 grams per month at this age. If she’s active, reaching milestones, and alert, that’s a good sign.
If the baby is not gaining weight steadily, looks weak, or has feeding issues, consult a pediatrician to rule out any underlying conditions.
