#AskTheExpert Respected sir, My sister's daughter was born premature. 1 month before actual date. she is experiencing frequent hiccups. are hiccups normal for newborn babies??

A. Sir, our pediatrician told us to pat the baby on her back for 15 minutes after feeding. is it ok to pat harder? is there any others things we should take care of while patting or to help the baby to relieve from hiccups ?

A. it is quite natural that small babies will be having hiccups for different reasons and it is more prevalent in premature babies it is a self limiting problem no medicines required
