Q.

#asktheexpert our daughter is 3 yrs 4 months old now. She still wants daily to breastfeed and cries if not allowed. Is it good for her or her mother’s health and what should we do to make her stop it?

A. let them cry for a while, but feed other foods which they like. Make your breasts less available for nursing. Stop wearing nursing clothing such as nursing bras and tops with nursing slits. Shorten each breastfeeding session before stopping it completely. Postpone breastfeeding sessions and Substitute food, drinks, or comfort for breastfeeding. Distract your toddler. Stopping gradually will also help prevent problems like overfull, hard (engorged) breasts and mastitis.

A. hi dear Experts recommend that babies be breastfed exclusively (without formula, water, juice, non–breast milk, or food) for the first 6 months. Then, they recommend continuing to breastfeed for 2 years (and beyond) if it works for you and your baby. Any length of time your baby can be breastfed is beneficial.
