#asktheexpert On some occasions my 3.5 years old daughter experiences constipation. Inspite of giving her lots of Fibre, Bananas and water, she still has the trouble sometimes

A. Constipation is a problem where there is difficulty in passing the stools and it could be very hard leading to sometimes injury and it becomes a chronic condition in most of the cases if not treated properly . most important thing is a proper diet with good fibre and plenty of liquids . Also avoidance of food which can aggravate the condition like Banana excess of milk and food with maida and junk . medications should be given like lactulose or polyethylene glycol but only in guidance with the doctor. c In emergency situation glycerine suppository or enema is useful.
