#AskTheExpert my two and half years old doesn't speak much. anything to worry??

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. for proper fluent speech you need to wait till 3 years of age of the child to speak in complete sentences clearly and fluently if its not so then consult doctor to know if speech therapy is required.till that time keep interacting as much as possible in your spoken language and involve the child in language learning activities using audiovisual aids too. dont worry if other milestones are normal this will also be achieved in time at times it may get bde delayed..there are variations in children by age for this. . .

POOJA GOSWAMIMom of a 10 yr 6 m old girl4 years agoA. Every child is different and so as their development milestones. Some kids are late speakers and there is not to worry much about it. Try speaking to her in clear and small sentences and emphasize on few words like her toys.Encourage her to speak instead of using gestures. Let her mingle with kids of her age as this way learn fast.
