Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroejnteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehygdration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could bje bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

This is pretty typical for babies who drink breast milk, but can it happen with formula-fed babies, too. It's not a cause for concern and you don't have to do anything differently.
