#AskTheExpert My son was born with lots of hair on his head but now he is having hair loss. His head looks bald at places. I have attached a photo for reference. He is 4 months old now please suggest

A. Hair loss in babies is very common and because of many reasons. Because of the withdrawal maternal hormone initial hairfall is there. After birth all the hair of the baby remain in the resting phase and usually by 8 to 12 weeks of age shedding of hairs is there . Hairs will grow back mostly by 3-7 months but a proper quality hair will be there by around 2 years of age. Cradle cap is also a cause for frequent shedding of hairs. along with trcdaction alopecia because of continuousx pressure on head in lying position

A. Hello mom Hair fall is very common in babies this is because babies lay on same position for long hours. You should start doing a massage with coconut oil or almond oil it will help you keep your baby’s scalp healthy.
