A. Kids of this age looks like they are hyperactive but most of them really aren't. They are just not having a sibling to play with or have lot of space constraint that they cannot play well and we parents keep on pampering them, all these things make the kids to jump, climb within their tiny room, seek parents attention through naughty behaviour and expect parents to spend all the time with them. We should understand this before thinking whether they are hyperactive as they are normal and simply reacting to their surroundings and environment. Try to tell stories in an interactive way and after reading the stories enact it with him like u take one role from the story and let him take another role and play a Skit. Give him many challenges like finish this puzzle within this time and finish this activity within this time etc., and tell that he will get a sticker. After he collects like some ten stickers he is eligible for a gift. Spend time with him and make him sit and play by Encouraging him through rewards. Low appetite can be due to reasons like low zinc levels or too much dairy products or less gap between meals etc. Include ajwain , ginger, lemon or carrot juice, coconut water, curd with mint in the kid's meals to boost the appetite. South Indian rasam will also increase the appetite.
