#AskTheExpert My son is having constipation due to stool hardening issue and has pain while defecation. I consulted pediatrician for the same and he prescribed stool softener syrup for few days... It's been a month now and even now if I don't give stool softener he is having constipation and pain while passing stool. Pls advice what should be the management for the same.

A. the baby is less than two years of age it is not advisable to use medicines for long time to relieve constipation in the baby you have to give a lot of water for the baby to drink all seasonal fruits and vegetable salads
