#AskTheExpert My son is falling sick every now and then usually after every 15 days.. primarily cough and cold..his fever goes in 2-3 days but congestion is taking longer..by them he recovers from it..in a few days he will again catch it .can you help he is 2 yrs 5 months old

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only aftjjuer a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
