Q.

#AskTheExpert My son is 8.5 months old. He is an active child and loves to makes sounds, especially when I singing/talking to him. However he is mostly making the Ah-ah oooo sound. I have heard him say few consonant sounds like ma, ga, ka, va but it's very rare. is this normal ? when can I expect him to make more frequent consonant sounds.

A. it is completely normal I would recommend you to wait for at least a couple of months before you can expect your child to make any consonant sounds basically it can happen at any time after completion of 14 to 15 months
