#askTheExpert my son is 4 months old and he is totally on breastfeeding but he poops once in 7-8 days he last popped on Friday (30 july). is it normal to poop once in 7-8 dsys or need to concern?

A. that is very normal and the consistency of the stool should be Semi solid to solid it is very common and normal for small children who are less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also also sometimes children will pass stool 7 or 8 times per day also and that is also normal and if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as colour of stool you will have to meet your doctor if the consistency is very watery and the child is uncomfortable or there is blood in the stool Also straining while passing urine and stool is normal
