Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. between birth to 6 months you have to give only milk to the child in diet (milk contains all the essential nutrients required for the growth of the child).
if the growth of the child is proper and the child is healthy then no health supplements are required.
the doctor will decide if the child requires vitamin d supplements as well as multivitamin and iron supplements after examination.
if you are taking the child in sunlight for 10 to 15 minutes daily than no need to give vitamin d drops
if the weight gain of the child is more than 20 to 30 gram per day there is no need to give anys multivitamins.
please note that it is not advisable to give colic medicine / gripe water / ghutti / constipation medicine as well as any other digestive medicines on regular basis because thsey are medicines and have side effects.
RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl2 years agoA. Only vitamin D is a mandatory supplement to be given to the child for initial one year after that you have to quit that also and if your doctor has advised to go for any other supplement then that is a different day but without consulting the doctor we don’t recommend you to go for any supplement
