#AskTheExpert my son is 2 yers and 2 month old, he is catching up on words bit slow ...speaks very few words only..his ear test is already been done but I am worried. please dvise.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Regarding Speech Baby usually start mono syllable by 6 to 7 months of age then by syllable words come by 9 to 10 months of age
then by 12 to 14 months of age baby say two to three words followed by jargon speech at 15-16 months .
child can start saying simple sentences by two years of age .
just make the child comfortable and do more interaction with the child so that he can learn to speak sxentences properly.
if the speech does not comes even by three years of age yvou need to consult your doctor for a proper assessment of the child .

SanthoshiMom of a 8 yr 1 m old girl3 years agoA. By 9 months to 1 year they just say mama, papa. By 15 months will understand whatever we say and will observe more. By 18 months they speak few meaningful words amma appa papa mamma thattha.. After two years they make combinations of words like amma give, amma take, appa go, mama come.. Later they make sentences.
