Q.

#AskTheExpert My son is 1.5 years old. He has been detected with Phimosis. Doctor has recommended to undergo Circumsion. Should we go ahead with the surgery or should we wait for it to open naturally.

A. Phimosis is a constriction of the opening of the foreskin so that it cannot be drawn back over the glans of the penis. Phimosis is a normal occurrence in the newborn boy. Some boys' foreskin can be retracted as early as infancy, others not until age 5 or 6 years.
