Q.
#asktheexpert my son 1 year 5 months old is having intermittent fever for past 2days and today is 3rd day. Sometimes 100.9 Celsius and sometimes 98 Celsius. We are giving Paracetamol 5ml 4 to 5 hours interval. And having medium cough. Please suggest to cure him. Thanks in Advance

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having.
give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food.
keep the child ind cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever
armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever
to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water.
higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
