A. For a 14-month-old baby in India, providing nutrient-rich and calorie-dense foods is essential for healthy weight gain. Here are some food options you can include in your baby's diet: 1. **Homemade Ghee:** Adding a small amount of homemade ghee to your baby's meals can provide healthy fats and additional calories. 2. **Banana:** Bananas are rich in natural sugars, potassium, and energy. Offer ripe bananas as a snack or mash them into other foods. 3. **Avocado:** Avocado is a nutrient-dense fruit with healthy fats. Mash it or offer it in slices for your baby. 4. **Paneer (Cottage Cheese):** Paneer is a good source of protein and calcium. You can offer small, soft cubes as a snack or add it to soups and curries. 5. **Full-Fat Yogurt:** Plain, full-fat yogurt is rich in healthy fats and calcium. Ensure it is unsweetened and offer it as a part of meals or snacks. 6. **Ragi (Finger Millet) Porridge:** Ragi is a nutritious grain that can be cooked into a porridge. It is high in calcium and iron. 7. **Eggs:** Eggs are a good source of protein and healthy fats. Offer well-cooked and mashed eggs as a part of your baby's diet. 8. **Sweet Potato Mash:** Sweet potatoes are rich in carbohydrates and vitamins. Steam or boil them and mash them into a soft consistency. 9. **Dal (Lentils) Khichdi:** Prepare a khichdi with rice and lentils. Lentils provide protein, and adding ghee enhances the calorie content. 10. **Peanut Butter:** Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on whole wheat bread or offer it as a dip for fruits. Ensure that the peanut butter is suitable for your baby's age. Always introduce new foods one at a time to monitor for any allergies. Consult with your pediatrician to ensure that your baby's diet is balanced and meets their nutritional needs.
