Q.

#AskTheExpert My one year old boy got oral thrush on mouth. unable to eat spicy food. It looks like white patches on sides of inner cheeks and inner lips. outer lips looks reddish. Shall I take him to the hospital? or will it go away? kindly give your advice doctor.

A. If treatment is started, your doctor will usually prescribe a gel that contains an anti-thrush medicine called miconazole. You smear this gel on to the affected areas in your baby's mouth, using a clean finger, as often as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the instructions carefully. Use the gel after a feed.
