Q.

#asktheexpert My lo is 3mo and she has started chewing her hands from last 2 weeks post which her interest towards milk has dramatically decreased. I pump and feed her due to latching issue from the beginning. is this a phase? how to control her hand chewing habit? she sometimes leaves it so deep inside that she feels like puking.

A. yes, this is common during this time post her birth per the number of months you mentioned. to chew, you may give baby a silicone teether (which are available easily in the market) or consult your paediatrician about this too. From Milk perspective, as per doctor's advice you may also give her a recommended stage 1 top feed using a bottle. you would typically need to get her attention off from chewing her hand at times, by doing different things and keeping your baby busy.. hope this helps!
