#AskTheExpert my lo having coughing so much my ped gave me medicine bt no improvement what to do? he says viral h take time to cure

Chaitanya DeepakMom of a 7 yr 10 m old boy4 years agoA. you can try giving honey drop with ginger drops or use tulsi drops with honey. My kid also had viral cough and I'm giving hum shyam tulsi drops and it's effective for him. also before sleep rub him baby vicks

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracbnetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
