Q.
#asktheexpert, my little baby boy was born prematurely. currently he is one month old, and recently he has been facing a lot of nose congestion and mucus formation making it difficult for him to sleep on his back. (for the nasal congestion we are giving him a saline nasal spray every 2 hours, but it ain't working that much)

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. give nasal saline drops every few hourly to the child in the nasal cavity.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child
you can go for indirect steam inhalation which will again help in decreasing both cough and cold
continue the regular diet of the child
if there is no improvement in few days then meet your doctorr
for fever and pain give paracetamol.
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.

AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 8 m old boy1 Year agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. Please give indirect steam to the baby. Also massage baby chest with lukewarm BabyHug mustard oil. You can alao rub kids Vaporub on kids clothes near chest area. Keep the baby warm at all times. You can also put saline drops in the nose of the baby.
