#asktheexpert my grand daughter is 4months old she has constipation since last monday evening. this is for the first time it happened. otherwise she passed bowls 2.,3 times but now we r worried wT to do.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. Stool pattern of small children changes from time to time.
It can be more than 7 times per day also and sometimes the child will not pass stool for 10 days also.
The most important thing is the consistency of the stool and if it is Semi solid to solid or semix liquid then there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as colour as well as the smell of the stool
Also straining and crying while passing urine and stool is very xnormal.
the crying of the child is due to colic pain and not due to constipation
