A. For your 4-year, 4-month-old girl with a mouth ulcer, ensure she drinks plenty of water and eats soft, non-spicy foods like curd, khichdi, banana, and mashed potatoes to avoid irritation. You can apply a pediatric oral gel like Dologel-CT or Zytee (only if recommended by your doctor) to reduce pain. Rinsing her mouth with mild salt water (if she can spit) 2–3 times a day can help healing. Avoid citrus fruits, chips, and hot foods. If the ulcer lasts more than 5–7 days, is very painful, or recurs often, consult a pediatrician — it may be due to nutritional deficiency, viral infection, or injury from biting.
