#AskTheExpert My daughters is 10 months 2 days old and I can't find any tooth eruptions yet. Should I be worried?

A. The average age is anywhere from 6 months to 12 months, though some babies will get teeth earlier and some will get them later. Timing isn't that important; however, if your baby still has no teeth by the age of 18 months, it may be time to see a pediatric dentist for an evaluation.There's no treatment needed for delayed tooth eruption, unless it's due to malnutrition; it's simply something we keep our eye on. We do know, though, that delayed tooth eruption can be an indicator of future dental problems that do need treatment—primarily, orthodontic issues.you should take your child to a dentist if no teeth have emerged by the age of 18 months.

A. Teething in babies happens between 4 and 15 months of age. Delayed or late teething is normal these days and not a cause for concern until your baby is 15 months old. If the delay is longer than 18 months, you should consult a pediatric dentist,
