POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy9 months agoA. If your 1.5-month-old baby is vomiting after top feed with mucus and curd-like fluid, here’s what you should do: Possible Causes: Overfeeding – Feeding too much at once can cause spit-up or vomiting. Reflux (GERD) – Some babies have reflux, causing frequent spit-up with curdled milk. Lactose Intolerance or Formula Sensitivity – The formula might not be suiting her. Infection or Cold – Mucus in vomit could indicate a mild cold or infection. What You Can Do: ✅ Feed in small amounts – Try giving smaller feeds more frequently. ✅ Keep her upright – Hold her in an upright position for 20-30 minutes after feeding. ✅ Burp properly – Burp her every few minutes while feeding and after finishing. ✅ Check formula – If vomiting continues, consult the doctor to see if a formula change is needed. ✅ Avoid lying down immediately – Keep her head slightly elevated while sleeping. When to See a Doctor Immediately: 🚨 Vomiting is forceful (projectile vomiting). 🚨 Baby is not gaining weight or is losing weight. 🚨 Vomit contains green, red, or brown liquid. 🚨 She shows signs of dehydration (dry lips, fewer wet diapers, excessive sleepiness). If this has been happening for a week, it’s best to consult a pediatrician to check if reflux, formula intolerance, or any other issue is causing it.
